Apple Fest to Celebrate Decades of Sweet Traditions
40 years of Apple Fest in Hendersonville
Western North Carolina tradition continues
Hendersonville, NC - Since 1984, Apple Fest has celebrated Western North Carolina's apple heritage and the community that surrounds it. The 40th annual festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, in Hendersonville's historic downtown district.
Apple Fest is a free, family-friendly event that features more than 200 arts and crafts vendors, live music on three stages, a variety of food vendors, and plenty of activities for children.
One of the highlights of Apple Fest is the Apple Pie Contest, which is open to both amateur and professional bakers. Bakers can enter their pies in one of three categories: traditional, creative, or gluten-free. The pies are judged by a panel of local experts, and the winners receive cash prizes and ribbons. The deadline to enter the Apple Pie Contest is Friday, Sept. 15.
In addition to the Apple Pie Contest, Apple Fest also features a number of other apple-themed activities, including an apple-eating contest, an apple-bobbing contest, and an apple-themed costume contest. There will also be a variety of children's activities, such as face painting, pumpkin decorating, and a petting zoo.
Apple Fest is a rain or shine event. For more information, visit the Apple Fest website.
